We're going international, baby! With a new platform and the backing of all the banks, we're ready for the future as a payment system.
Wero offers the same safety and ease of use as iDEAL, but it is available across Europe. Plus it offers new payment options and services like purchase protection. Sounds good, right? Especially since we're making the transition smooth. So you can focus on running your business.

PHASE 1: CO-BRANDING AND TECHNICAL TRANSITION

We're kicking off with brand awareness with the cobranded iDEAL | Wero logo. After that transactions will gradually be migrated in the background to the new European Wero technology. Your current iDEAL setup will stay as is. Your iDEAL provider will keep you informed and notify you in case you need to adjust anything.
The start of the technical migration is subject to approval by the supervisor De Nederlandsche Bank.

PHASE 2: THE ROLLOUT OF WERO

We're going all-in. The logo, the technology, everything is now completely Wero. New features like subscriptions, payment at delivery, and other payment plans will also become available over time.

But no stress, your iDEAL provider will guide you through the entire transition. So you can be excited about all those new opportunities and customers across the border.

Your current iDEAL setup will continue to work normally with the iDEAL | Wero cobranded logo. Your iDEAL provider will transition you to the new Wero technology at the appropriate time. He will keep you informed of the progress.
After 20 years, the iDEAL logo is very familiar to Dutch consumers. By bringing Wero together with the iDEAL logo, we ensure recognition and continuity. It makes the change clear for customers and will make the transition feel natural later on.
The combination logo shows that Wero is building on iDEAL and offers consumers a feeling of recognition & trust. To ensure consumers have the same experience everywhere, it is mandatory to use this logo. Your iDEAL provider will typically handle the adjustment automatically, but if you have a custom solution, such as your own payment page or API connection, you may have to change the logo yourself.

Your iDEAL provider will support you through the transition.
